Most division 1 programs like USC have their own vans & buses to travel to local games. For out of state or greater distance games the school will charter a plane, typically a 150-300 passenger jet in which all 70 players, coaches, trainers and even school officials can board as well. I know in Division 3 where I played they offered seats on the chartered plane to family members for about $100 if there is room. About half of all "big name" big endowment schools have a private jet to fly the President and any other personnel to meetings as well. I know that at Purdue 4 to 6 students, typically seniors are selected each year to pilot the school's jet.
USC never beat a team 42-38 in 1990 http://www.fanbase.com/USC-Trojans-Football-1990 The closest score to this question was USC beat UCLA 45-42 if that helps
