MLB Tryout Camps are open for all players ages 16 and up (scouts are usually most interested in those under 25). There is no fee. All players must bring their own equipment (glove, cleats, helmet, bats, etc.) and sign a liability waiver. If you are under 21, generally, you must have a parent or guardian sign a release also. to get into Baseball you have to pass through drafts to get into the minor leagues. here you can spend alot of your career waiting to be moved from AAA to AA to A which is right below the majors. take Kelly Stinnet, a former Yankee catcher, he spent most if his career in the minors. then from the Yankees again, the current Shelley Duncan made it through the minors rather quickly. it all depends on if you're a good player or if u need a little more work
You cannot tryout for a major league baseball team. You play ball, and if you are lucky enough to be drafted by a team, either in college or out of high school, you usually start playing in the minors. If you don't get selected, you can play ball in the independent league and if you word gets out that you are good, you could be signed as a free agent. People that are in other countries, like Cuba, or the Dominican Republic, just have to be signed. It sounds complicated, but for a person any baseball fan, the complicated things look easy and the easy stuff is hard. It's complicated, but its easy for me to understand. I hope I could help.
