Today's (and yesterday's) hoops have little hooks all the way around the hoop that hold the net onto the hoop.
Each hoop is different. Generally, just string the ends of the net (each loop) through each little bracket.

Make, say,a 1/2" u-loop on the selected starting hanging string (12nos total). From inside the hoop pass this u-loop outward between the hoop rim and the mid section of the selected starting rim hook. From the back of the rim hook pull down the u-loop to pass over the lower arc of the rim hook. Pull and stretch out the u-loop legs such that they hang respectivley from the left and right upper arcs of the rim hook. Repeat for all 12 strings. This method is for string/rope nets. The major point is to make sure the hanging rope passes the inner side of the lower hook arc and hang from the upper smaller arcs with adequate stability.
