To set up a round robin of sixteen teams write the numbers down in two columns. The first column starts witth number one at the top and ends with number eight at the bottom. The second column starts with number nine at the bottom and ends with number sixteen at the top. Then for the following weeks keep number one stationary and rotate every other number counter clockwise as shown in the example that follows. The pairs across from each other are opponents. This system works for any even number combination and it will take one less week than number of players to complete. For sixteen team it will take 15 weeks. You can have the sixteenth or final week as "a challenge week." Have the top ranked team play the second ranked team, the third place team play the fourth place team, etc. See the charts below. Week One Week Two Week Three Week Four Week Five Week Six Etc. 1 vs 16 1 vs 15 1 vs 14 1 vs 13 1 vs 12 1 vs 11 2 vs 15 16 vs 14 15 vs 13 14 vs 12 13 vs 11 12 vs 10 3 vs 14 2 vs 13 16 vs 12 15 vs 11 14 vs 10 13 vs 9 4 vs 13 3 vs 12 2 vs 11 16 vs 10 15 vs 9 14 vs 8 5 vs 12 4 vs 11 3 vs 10 2 vs 9 16 vs 8 15 vs 7 6 vs 11 5 vs 10 4 vs 9 3 vs 8 2 vs 7 16 vs 6 7 vs 10 6 vs 9 5 vs 8 4 vs 7 3 vs 6 2 vs 5 8 vs 9 7 vs 8 6 vs 7 5 vs 6 4 vs 5 3 vs 4 If you have an odd number of participants, one person or team does not play each week. You can rotate them as shown below in the example of five teams. With one team having a bye each week, you will need as many weeks as you have players to complete the rotations. You can also add a "Bye" as the first player and rotate them as explained for an even number of participants. Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 1 5 4 3 2 2 vs 5 1 vs 4 5 vs 3 4 vs 2 3 vs 1 3 vs 4 2 vs 3 1 vs 2 5 vs 1 4 vs 5 Good luck!

Well, start off by creating a schedule for one of the teams with all 15 games on it (there is only 15 games because the other team is yourself, which you can't face).

From there, put the games that team plays on the other teams schedules, which leads you to one full schedule and 15 schedules with one game. Continue creating a schedule for the next team, which means you will have 2 full schedules and 15 schedules with 2 games on it.

Continue this, and eventually all of the schedules will be filled.

League schedules can be found on the United States Bowling Congress' website at www.bowl.com. They have schedules for 4 to 48 teams.

Also, there is league software available on the market, such as CDE Software's Bowling League Secretary, that have the schedules built in.

In your case, use the 8 team schedule

There are a number of ways.

Team A takes the entire 1st week, Team B the 2nd week, etc. and the 6th week, they each take one day, so Team A takes Monday, Team B takes Tuesday, etc.

Or you can have them take a day out of each week, so Team A always plays on Mondays, Team B always plays on Tuesdays, etc. for six weeks.

Or if you want to rotate them, Team A plays on Monday for the first week and Tuesday on the second week, Team B plays on Tuesday for the first week and Wednesday for the second week, etc.

It really depends on how far apart you want each practice to be.

To make a schedule with six teams, playing each other twice, you need to set up a 10 game season. If you wanted them to play each other three times, you would do a 15 game season.

how can it be 10 games?

Just squeeze 4 more position rounds throughout the schedule.

Follow the USBC schedule available at Bowl.com or within bowling league software, such as CDE Software's BLS (bowling league secretary) for 16 teams and follow the first 8 weeks.
