Dont realy know what your on about but you can play 7 different positions..

GK - Defensive Player allowed in the D (shooting area) and up to first line

GD - Same as GK but allowed up to second line

WD - Same as GD but cant go in D

C - Go everywhere apart from the D

WA - Same as WD

GA - Attacking player, allowed in the D to score - up to second line

GS - Same as GA but allowed up to first line

If i had a picture of a Netball court it would be easier to understand.

Netballs similar to Basketball, apart from a few rules that are different.

Hope this helps :)

Speak to your local netball association. Every place have their own rules about how you can become a netball coach. Sometimes it requires you to do a coaching clinic and other times you just put your hand up. It also would depend on the level of the team you are wanting to coach.

The basic rules of Netball.

  1. You cannot travel with the ball.
  2. There are only 7 players on court from each team at all times unless a player has been sent off by the referee.
  3. You cannot snatch or hit the ball out of a players hands. This is called contact. You must stand beside the player until the ball has left the players hands.
  4. When defending the ball, you must stand 3 feet away from the person with the ball.
  5. Players cannot hold the ball for more than 3 seconds. This includes throwing it the air, no-one else touches it and you catch it again. Or bouncing the ball.
  6. Players are not allowed to move into the areas that they are not designated to.
  7. When the defense in the circle are called up by the referee, they have to stand beside the shooter. The shooter has the decision of shooting the ball or passing the ball.
  8. When the ball goes out of court, the team who last touched the ball hands the ball over to the opposing team. They have 3 seconds to stand outside of the court at the line where it went out and pass the ball.

To reach the highest level of netball, you would obviously have to have the skill, speed and talent required to be able to compete against the world's best. I know that in Australia, one way to get into the national team is to begin by playing in the biggest/best competition your state/territory has, generally in the city, then working your way up through division 1, A grade, state reserves, state, state/national teams (like Thunderbirds, Vixen, Firebirds, etc.) then to the national team.

Another way is to be recognised by the AIS and be selected that way.

Bear in mind that this progression relies not only on the player having extremely outstanding talent and ability and the right physical build, but also how well that player trials and whether or not they get noticed, which is extremely hard.

Especially in countries like Australia and New Zealand, the competition for international netball is extremely fierce, so start training and planning now!
