Some pads can be machine washed but otherwise you can always use soap and water. Do not dry in a hot machine drier, however, since this can cause the pads to stiffen and become inflexible.

You clean a leather football or leather anything else using a rag and saddle soap. You get saddle soap where they sell shoe polish.
