as far as sizing goes it is generally 1-1.5 sizes LESS than your shoe size. Comfort and mobility are the most important deciding factors. Do NOT order skates from online until you have tried them on in the store and got sized properly. You obviously also want to find the skate appealing as far as comfort and quality. write down the make model price in store and the size they sized you for especially if you are not familiar with buying hockey skates. Go to a reputable website and find the manufacturer and then the model you want the price is usually roughly the same online but don't get ripped off. Hope this helped.
It depends on the size of the foot. You should wear skates that fit the foot for comfort and safety. Other than that, it makes no difference.

Ice skates can get extremely expensive occasionally. You can buy basic skates for very cheap or get skates custom made and fitted with a separate blade to suit you. I would say that your skates are probably quite basic, not that there is anything wrong with that for a beginner. I would think that unless you are landing big jumps or skating very regularly, your skates will be just fine to buy! make sure that you sharpen them too!

It deppends where you are to buy it. If you buy it at some retailers you have the option of getting it sharpened when you buy it.
Possibly one of the most reputable places from which to buy roller skates for kids is from the Toys "R" Us website. One could also purchase them from Amazon, SkateHut, and eBay if one was interested in second hand roller skates.
