What a fantastic question!! Where to start... Aaron was a power hitter who also hit for high batting average. He was a defensive standout, in my opinion the best right fielder of his era except for Roberto Clemente. He was consistent: He broke the all-time home run record without ever hitting 50 in any one season. He consistently delivered clutch hits and RBIs and he was always dignified and resolute in his pursuit of greatness even in the face of racism and bigotry. Even when I was a kid and we didn't imagine that he would one day break Babe Ruth's record we were in awe of Aaron's skill. After his playing days he was in charge of the Braves' minor league system and was responsible for developing players that got the Braves division titles year after year. Henry Aaron is what every single kid who picks up a bat and glove should aspire to be.

Hank Aaron, in my opinion is the the second "Jackie Robinson" of Baseball. He broke Babe Ruth's long standing homerun record with dignity and grace even though he was getting death threats. I watched in Atlanta Fulton County Stadium as he hit 713 and watched on TV the next year when he tied Ruth in Cincinnati. At my young age at the time and not being African American nor Caucasian, I was totally oblivious to the things going around him. I truly thought that Hank Aaron was bringing the community together in Atlanta. Years after, I have met him on more than one occasion and he, even with the fame of what he did, is the nicest famous person I have even met. Today, he is truly an ambassador not just to baseball but society as a whole, showing how one man can change how people feel about what society should be and is becoming.
