How are rugby stats gathered?

Depending on what stats you refer to. Mostly they rare gathered at pitch side by " spotters" These will have a laptop or other portable device and will look for specific thinigs like one will look for carries, another for advange lines crossed another will look at line out and scrums won/lost. These are fed to the main team in the stands and they will refer to these during the game, halftime and for training purposes. For scores wins and loses these are recorded by the RFU incharge of the country and fed to the IRB/NFL when required.
