In cricket game if the ball touches the rope boundary line what is it 4 or a 6 It is just on the rope?

According to the Laws of Cricket, the boundary where a rope is used is the inside edge of that rope. A ball that lands directly on the rope will be a six, provided that it only landed on the rope, and didn't touch both the ground inside and the rope at the same time (this would be a four only); this is the ruling used in international games.

What is a boundary in cricket?

The perimeter of the cricket pitch is known as the boundary, if a batsmen hits the ball over this perimeter (usually represented by a line or a rope) they have hit a boundary. If the ball travels over this line without hitting the floor it is a 6 and if it makes contact with the floor before hitting the line it is a 4. Both of these are known as boundarys.

How many bases are in cricket?

Technically speaking there are none. Where baseball has 4 bases, cricket is played on a pitch with 2 ends, and the batsmen get a run when they both cross to the other end safely. If they hit the ball to the boundary rope, then its 4 runs. If they hit it over the rope (similar to a home run in Baseball), then it counts as 6 runs.

Though the shape and dimensions of a professional Cricket Ground have not been defined or fixed, but as per the law 19.1, ICC has defined the playing conditions; diameters and minimum and maximum size of the playing surface. As per the law the playing area should be a minimum of 150 yards from boundary to boundary. Square boundary should be minimum of 60 yards and straight boundary of 70 yards, subject to no boundary exceeding 90 yards. The distance should be measured from the centre of the pitch.
