Frank Thomas was never a great gold glove fielder, that is for sure. But he could make the average plays at first base. He was athletic enough to play football at Auburn, so he could handle himself at the position. He always claimed to want to play the position and it could be shown that he hit better while playing first base. The issue here is that injuries that hindered him at first base (and hastened his change to full time DH) probably hindered him at the plate.
Lampard does not use that many skills in the pitch but he can dribble and when you look at him closely he is an amazing dribbler. Although he's not a Ronaldo or a Messi he is fast, good long distance shooter, can dribble, has good stamina and is an amazing passer. In my opinion the best mid-fielder.
Need to now how to play good and be over 18.

If I lived in Milwaukee, I would celebrate having Price Fielder, one of the greatest pure power hitters in the game. But he is no where near as good as Morneau and Fielder.
The best fielder for every position in each league is awarded the Gold Glove award. This is voted on by players, coaches, managers, and media. This would be a good judge of "who is the best fielder" any other answer on here woudl be a personal opinion, more then likely based on the team the person likes.
practice ---------- There is no "middle fielder" in baseball. However, the second baseman and the shortstop are sometimes referred to as the "middle infielders." Also, when a team is said to be "strong up the middle," it generally means they have good players at catcher, second base, shortstop and center field.
I'm not sure if this is what you want but in my opinion the best player ever was Babe Ruth but there other good players like Alex Rodriguez, Ichiro, Frank Thomas, Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter and others
