If you're in good shape (which you probably are from doing track) then you will most likely be successful in cheerleading. You will have to learn new skills, but the routines are usually only 2 and 1/2 minutes long so your endurance will help. Cheerleading involves strength of the entire body, so track will be a good background.
If you are flexible in cheerleading this will help you succeed at many things such as doing the splits or doing difffrent gymnastic things. so it really does help speaking from experience to be flexible! HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!! love always Miss.cheerleader

In cheerleading you can always get hurt considering all you do. It is a dangerous sport period. As you get older and get into more difficult stunts and routines, the risk of getting hurt increases. This is why you need a good coach that knows what their doing!
Cheerleading has become more than girls in skirts jumping around yelling Go Team Go! Since the development of All-Star cheerleading, the sport has become much more extreme. Cheerleaders now are serious athletes who spend hundreds of hours doing strenuous training. Some of the stunting and tumbling is very difficult, and can even cause death sometimes. Cheerleading has become a sport.
