Football cheerleading is known as football season. It is when cheerleaders cheer during football games. <3 Yours truly, *ChEeRlEaDeR fOr SnOwLiNe AlLsTaR cHeEr*
Yes, there are cheerleading try-outs if that's your question.
There are three main typed of cheer: Recreational cheerleading, which is more for local football teams and does not involve much skill at all. you can do this without having any experience. Allstar Cheerleading, which is for people who really have a desire to cheer. This type of cheer is not cheap. Allstar cheer involves alot (tumbling, jumps, dance, stunting). At least, a basic understanding of cheerleading would help if you are pursuing allstar cheer. There are 5 levels for allstar cheer. College/Highschool Cheer, which is for well, high school and college kids. Some high schools and colleges offer a competition team, but most offer atleast a more recreational team. Sometimes these teams tumble, but if it is recreational and not as intense, they mostly cheer and stunt. Competitive college teams have another level (level 6).
It would most defenitly help to know them, and i would say to be on a school cheerleading squad you probably would but for a Allstar squad you probably wouldn't but it would help. Most Allstar teams accept anyone who wants to cheer
At meets, some judges will take a deduction for wearing nail polish, but it is okay to train whilewearing nail polish.
I have a friend who does both and she likes allstar cheerleaidng better, so do I. Cheerleading will teach you the "flips" for diving, but personally I still think that cheering is better!
Allstar cheerleading is a type of cheerleading that doesn't cheer for a specific team but is a dance routine (hip hop), that involves hard stunts and a lot of hard tumbling just like gymnasts. Some examples are odyssey allstars, Victory allstars, or Cheer Extreme allstars! An allstar cheerleading routine consists of several different parts: dance, cheer (the organization or team's cheer), jump sequence, various motion sequences, running tumbling, several stunts, and a pyramid. Allstar cheerleading routines are up to 2.5 minutes long. Deductions are usually given at competitions if the performance exceeds this time. Allstar teams attend several cheerleading competitions a year where they will compete with other teams in their division on a large spring floor. Competitions range from small, local competitions to large, national competitions. There is also a Worlds competition at Disney World in Orlando, Florida that can only be attended if a team wins a Worlds Bid. Most other competitions can be entered just by paying an entry fee, and bids are usually not required. There can be as few as 6 members on a team and as many as 36. Both males and females can compete. The different divisions include tiny, mini, youth, junior, senior and open divisions, which are all based on age. The levels within those divisions are levels 1-5 and they are based on difficulty level. Allstar cheerleading is a great sport and a fun way to learn about teamwork and cooperation. It is also a great way to make new friends and boost your confidence!

AllStar was created in 2001.
I'm not quite sure if you mean teach cheerleading or if you mean to take a class yourself... Usually to take a cheerleading class the youngest age is usually 3 years old. To teach a cheerleading class I'm not sure, it usually depends on the gym/studio that you want to teach at. Sorry, hope that helped a little(:
