basket in Europe free? ok to explain you a little,players sign a contact with teams to play in all the competitons the team will play.those are domestic championship,domestic cup,euroleague or other European competitons and even some local competitons between countries like the adriatic-league in foremr yugoslavian countries or the baltic-league. the sallaries are very good in Europe but of course not as good as in nba.

a superstar can take 4-5 million dollars a year .slaries are a lot better in football though(the one you call soccer)

to be honset those kind of questions from Americans simply amaze me. the next will be"do people in Europe eat?"

Well it depends on how good the player is,usually players like Kobe or LeBron are going to be paid more because the NBA can afford it. But the Euro league for instance will pay players that may not be a superstar but can keep their own, a lot more than what the NBA would pay them. Take Josh Childress for an example a high explosive dunker and in my opinion a pretty good Basketball player,went over to the Euro league because they offered him more money than he was getting paid in the NBA.
