No. While at Ole Miss, Cooper Manning was diagnosed with a congenital condition called spinal stenosis, the narrowing of the spinal canal. He was lucky he didn't get paralyzed all those years on the field. He has joked that he spent his career, "one hit away from a wheelchair."

In high school, Peyton Manning was able to start at QB (#14) as a sophomore before Cooper, a WR (#18,) graduated. After Cooper's diagnosis and subsequent departure from football, Peyton changed his number to 18 in honor of his brother.
