There are reports of a plane passing over the opening ceremony. This was a from an airline serving the nearby airport - In the film of the event the security personnel looked concerned when in reality they were aware of the traffic that would be over-flying the ground.

Yes. However, this wasn't an unusual occurrence as one of the departure routes takes the climbout plane over the ground.

In the film Invictus it appeared that a plane was planned to fly over the ground at kick off. This is true, and was a planned event.

Nothing. The route taken is a Standard Instrument Departure Route out of South African air space. The event was not really unusual as aircraft frequently fly over the ground at Johannesburg
