I just met someone in line at the Philly airport who fits this description. We were going through the security screening line, and he plopped his size 16 shoes in one of those gray plastic trays. I asked him if he was about 6'7", which he was. When I asked if that height had translated into any significant athletic success, he said he had played college hoops at a small GA school, had played with the Nuggets for less than a year, and had played overseas for several years. He has a 14 year old son, and I'd put him in his early 40's, perhaps. Very pleasant guy for the 3 minutes I was with him - and monstrous size 16 shoes, which he claimed were a little tight.

They could not afford his salary. A player of that much skill and talent needed a higher salary, and the 76ers did not have that kind of money, so the Denver Nuggets bought him out..........Allen Iverson was on the last year of his Nuggets contract, and Denver traded him to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, and Cheikh Samb; Antonio McDyess chose not to play with the Nuggets, so they let him go, and the Pistons got him back.
