Ted Thompson was the general manager of the Green Bay Packers on the day Aaron Rodgers was drafted. As general manager, Ted Thompson is responsible for making the final decision on who the Packers will draft. The recounting of those who were in the draft room on draft day indicate that as Aaron Rodgers fell and it became apparent that he would be available when Green Bay picked, Thompson went around the room asking scouts and everyone to to confirm their opinions on Aaron Rodgers. Thompson supposedly did this because although the Packers had scouted Rodgers, they had not done so extensively because they had not expected him to be available when they drafted.
If you ask a fan they might tell you there is no weakness for the Packers. Looking at the stats though their defence was their biggest weakness lastseason. It is something that Ted Thompson is intent on fixing in free agency and the draft.
