When the Baseball is hit by the bat, the moving ball will stay in motion until it is stopped by an outside force, which is gravity. In flight there are three forces that act on a baseball they are weight, drag, and lift.

Typically, a baseball gets its energy from physical inertia. How far the ball will go depends on bat speed, the speed the ball is pitched, density of the bat, integrity of the ball, and of course angle of contact. kinectics, which is energy transfer, is a big part of it. for furter info, look up newton,s laws
