Gray Nicolls GN500 Pro Balanced bats were the 4 Scoop Version of the more popular Single Scoop GN100
The bats were made from the mid to late 70's ,for about 10 years after which point Gray Nicolls went to a Twin Scoop "Megadrive".
The 4 Scoop was used by Ian Chappell, and if you look at pics from the Early "World Series" games played in Australia in the late 70's, you will see some nice action shots
Although not as popular at the time, they are now highly prized on the collectibles market.

Most cricket players at the national level actually have a custom made cricket bat. The Grey Nicholls (or other) logo on the bat is just a sponsorship endorsement, not the maker of the bat themselves.
Several brands are known for using ash to make cricket bats, though it's less common than willow. Notable brands include New Balance and Gray-Nicolls, which have historically produced bats with ash. However, most modern cricket bats are primarily made from willow, particularly English and Kashmir willow, due to its superior performance and lighter weight. Ash bats may still be found, but they are often considered more of a niche option.
Cricket pads are made out of willow wood.
