No, there is no rule that says you must dribble the basketball before you can shoot it. But you may not take any steps with out dribbling the ball, if you do "travel" with the ball without dribbling the referee will whistle a penalty.
Yes, you can^Uh no..Stepping Before DribblingA player who receives a pass from a teammate and starts running without dribbling is performing an illegal move. The player must dribble before he moves on the court with the ball, or else the referee will cite him for traveling. At the professional level, National Basketball Association referees seem to let players take a step before the dribble, but this should not happen in college, high school or youth basketball.
1. You can not dribble with 2 hands 2. You can't take more than 2 steps without dribbling
don't travel (take 3 steps without dribbling), don't double dribble (Dribble, pick the ball up, then dribble again), don't foul the shooter (make contact with the shooter while shooting that changes the course of the ball), don't go out of bounds.
Traveling occurs when you or another player has the basketball and you take more than two steps without dribbling! Also if you jump up with the ball and then come down with the ball still in your hands it is Called a travel as well. If you are going for a layup you may take two steps! Also if you have the ball and you dribble and then pick up your dribble and then dribble again it is called double- dribble and is almost the same thing as traveling! If any of this happens the ball goes to the other team! Hope this helps!
yes but if you got the ball from your teammate and you dribbled the ball then stopped without dribbling the ball you cant dribble when you stop or else that is a travel
with both hands, make fake moves, and then shake hands (fair play) and go home (in one piece without shooting each other). forgive me.
You exert a downward force onto the ball, and because it is rubber, it will bounce back up to you. Do this repetitively, and you will be dribbling a basketball. (YOu know you are doing it correctly if the ball is going UP and DOWN!)
in basket sometimes you have to not dribble an a basket ball. You have to put high in the air. Because when you are bouns- ing the ball some onw will get it in the middle. So you also have to run fast. You pass.Ok
Drink someones blood while they are asleep.
Dribbling my hommie.
When you have the Basketball and you run or walk more then one step without bouncing it Travelling is taking two consecutive steps with different feet without dribbling the ball, unless the ball is released after the second step and before the third step occurs. I arrive at this conclusion not by the rule book, but by watching basketball on TV.
