I think it depends on what type of volleyball you are playing, but according to the NCAA, Federation of International Volleyball and USA rules, it states that you may contact the ball with any part of your body. In most US High Schools, you can not contact the ball with your feet unless in is unintentional. As of the 2007-2008 USA and FIVB rules you may contact the ball with any part of your body including your feet, this includes the NCAA. You may even kick the ball over the net. So the best way to answer this question is to ask the coach and the ref to what rules you are playing by and if it is considered legal contact

Yes, it has recently become legal to use any part of the body to hit the ball, which can include kicking. It is extremely rare to see a person kick the ball though.
