There is no requirement for a player to have previous football experience in order to play in the NFL. However, the chances of someone making a team without going through a college program are extremely slim. Without college playing time there is no chance for a scout to see you or your talents, and since no NFL teams have open tryouts anymore...

Additionally, without previous playing experience your lack of experience would create a tremendous disadvantage, regardless of how gifted an athlete a person was.

No. The only drawback to not going to college is that is the only place that an NFL draft scout will look to find new recruits.

You must know the rules and regulations of NFL, plus you must have played it regularly at beginner level.

No, but it's a good idea to get one anyway in case you become injured. Then you will still e able to support yourself.

Yes it happens all the time, some kids mature physically later than others. Most schools have a junior varsity so players can learn for a couple of years.
