The softball season officially begins February 1st. You cannot practice or hold try-outs before this time. You can condition before this date, but you are not to handle any softball gear such as bats, gloves, or softballs.

In Recreation leagues there should be no tryout at all, everyone who wants to play, can. Play is limited to your own league except when team numbers are limited but always within your division. C will not play B, and so forth.

In the "A" division the team head coach is the sole determining factor in acceptance. That is because it is a competition league and he is looking for special talent, it is also a pay as you go type arrangement where the team plays in only tournaments and the costs for travel and such are absorbed by the families of it's participants.

This can all be very expensive but it is the best way to go if you want to play in college, keep looking for the best team and improving yourself until you are able to make it as a member.
