I hope this answers the question. Each of the 2 teams that compete against each other play one day and then get the next day off. Whoever wins a series (not the Stanley Cup Finals)(example: The quarterfinals) gets about 4-7 days before there next opponent .

No. In the division semifinals (first round) of the 1986 Stanley Cup, the series were best-of-five-games. Ever since that, all series have been best-of-seven.
