Two players I know of were referred to as The Hawk. Ken Harrelson, a utility player most of his career, later went on to be a broadcaster for the Chicago White Sox and is credited with coming up with the signature home run call, "You can put it on the board ... YYYYYYYYYYES!" The other is Andre Dawson, who was an all-star outfielder for the Montreal Expos and Chicago Cubs in the 1980s and 1990s. He later also spent time with the Florida Marlins and Boston Red Sox and many consider him a strong candidate for the Hall of Fame.
