Hanni Wenzel represented Liechtenstein when she won the women's Giant Slalom and Slalom events at the 1980 Winter Games in Lake Placid. She also won silver in women's downhill event in the 1980 Games. She won Liechtenstein's first Olympic medal four years earlier when she won bronze in women's Giant Slalom at the 1976 Winter Games in Innsbruck.
They Olympics committee decided to make it an olympic sport in 1994 so it first appeared in the 1998 winter games. Then they just had slalom and halfpipe though
Bode Miller did not compete in the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville. His first Olympics were the 1998 Games in Nagano where he competed in giant slalom and slalom and did not finish either event.
