A ladder-style competition is where any number of players or teams are allowed. Commonly, each player/team would challenge another player/team on the ladder. If a person/team defeats another person on the ladder, both swap places. There are some restrictions in variations of ladder competitions, including a team can only challenge another team within a range of 5 places (e.g). The aim is to reach the top of the ladder to secure the winning position. To secure the top of the ladder, a player/team must defeat any challenging opponents who challenge the leading layer/team. All challenges made between two players/teams must be accepted.
