A circle jerk is when theres a circle of males and they jerk the person to their right I agree with the first answer, but its also called a circle jerk when the guys in the circle are all jerking themselves. I've been in both kinds and the guys called both kinds circle jerks. Usually there is a contest involved. There was ALWAYS a contest in the ones I was in. When it's the kind where the guys are jerking themselves, then the contest is to see who can ejaculate first. When it's the kind where you jerk the guy to your right, then the contest is to see who can hold off from ejaculating the longest. That's because when its someone else doing you, you can't make them slow down or stop or anything to hold it off. And each guy is trying to make the next guy ejaculate fast as possible to eliminate the competition.

Although a circle jerk might refer to any variety of activities involving sexual behavior among males, it usually falls into one of two categories:

1. Males sit or stand in a circle in view of one another. Each male masturbates his own penis.

2. Males do as above, only instead of masturbation one's own penis, each guy grabs the penis of the guy to his right (because most people are right handed) and masturbates that penis while his own penis is being masturbated by the guy to his left.

In either form, the group forms a circle of guys jerking (masturbating) penises.

Circle jerking is done for physical pleasure and also to meet social/emotional needs. Participants are able to fulfill natural curiosities about other males through observing their genitalia in an aroused state; and observing the penis, bodies, and faces of other males through arousal and orgasm. Most males feel self-assured or their own development and normalcy by participating.
This takes place in a group setting that seems to set aside feelings of homosexuality. Many males feel a stronger sense of bonding to their friends through such activity.
