An "Aggie" is someone who attends an Agricultural College. The Morrell Land Grant of 1865 established A&M (Agricultural and Mechanical) Colleges throughout the country. Many of them are referred to as "Aggies" in reference to the Agricultural part. Some famous Aggie schools are Texas A&M, Florida A&M, Michigan State, Penn State and California-Davis.
The Texas A&M mascot is Reveille, a collie dog. Gunrock the Mustang is the mascot for UC Davis. Old Sarge is another Aggie logo.
