What ever happened to the beautiful Vonetta Mcgee? Just like what happens to all 1970's film stars that don't have strong acting ablilities, they disappear... Vonetta Mcgee was on the verge of starring in her own movie Cleopatra Jones, written for her by then boyfriend Max Julien, star of 1970's movie The Mack! for some strange reason the role was given to Film Actress Tamara Dobson. Vonetta Mcgee costarred in several movies thru out the 70's Blacula, Shaft in Africa, Hammer! Thomasine & Bushrod. Even though she made a string of low-budget movies she never acheived the type of stardom she truly deserved as a African American Actress. The last movie Ms. Mcgee appeared in was the early 80's. A fine actress indeed , but never truly reached her true potential, what a shame............................
