During the initial stages of treating plantar fasciitis, try and avoid exercises that put excessive pressure/load on the plantar fascia.

Try swimming or cycling. If you really must do 'running type' exercises, try the eliptical trainer. This reduces the impact on the foot that normal running inflicts.
