If you stay home, you'll never leave. It's easier to head off to school with those who are in the same boat. Going off to school as a sophomore will make the transition far more difficult. Keep in mind that everyone is nervous about heading off to college. That's why freshman live in dorms: it helps ease them into living away from home. You'll be among hundreds of freshman in your dorm alone, all of whom have the same fears and concerns as you, though many may not appear so. If you're about to finish high school, start planning your freshman year away. It will be the best time of your life.
