A good mascot name should reflect the character of the community, school or business it is intended to represent.

Some good ones, although used by many schools, are: Knights, Huskies, Bears, Rail Splitters, Marksmen, Racers, Aces, Pilots, Pumas, and Cavaliers.

If the area you live in has a distinct heritage in something, like aviation, choose a name that identifies with that heritage much like the Detroit Pistons NBA team reflects the tie to the auto industry. Animal names are always cool but be sure to pick an animal that is cool. Use Wolves instead of Dogs, or Tigers instead of Cats.

Also remember once you choose a mascot name the mascot will likely be around for a while so name it after something your grandchildren will be proud of. Use your imagination and have fun choosing a name that suits you best.
