Actually, cliff diving (high diving) is an ongoing sport with many new technical dives. However the competition does not focus on how high the dive is performed from. The main competitions regularly attended are the World Cup, Marmeeting and Red Bull Cliff Diving Competitions. Marmeeting is the highest regular competition at usually 27.5 meters high (90 ft). The height depends on the tide and the waves as it is performed at the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Even at this height, usually at least 1 diver is injured from either slight over-rotation resulting in a broken coccyx or injured adductor (middle leg) muscles. As a previous cliff diver, after speaking with world champions such as Orlando Duque and Joey Zuber in 2005, they had no desire to challenge the world record for height.
