Many schools in the US do not accept lateral entry into PharmD programs for individuals who have already completed a BPharm in another country. It is recommended to contact individual schools directly to inquire about their specific requirements and policies for international applicants. Additionally, some schools may offer advanced standing or credit transfer options for candidates with prior pharmacy education.

Hi, I am a pharmacist (now training to be a Dr). You need a degree in Pharmacy (I went to Bradford uni, it's great!). It used to be a BSc Pharm degree but now I believe it is an MPharm. It takes four years of university study and then one year of professional training which can be undertaken in a community, hospital or industrial setting. It is hard work but worth it in the end; just be sure you really want to do it as it is a long time to study something you aren't sure about. Good luck and I hope this helps!AnswerSince 2001, new graduates have been required to be Doctors before they can sit for pharmacist licensure. The PharmD, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree has been adopted by all colleges of pharmacy in the United States.
CPhT - certified pharmacy technician. You have to pass the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. As a pharm tech you work under a pharmacist and may dispense drugs, but not make the medical decisions a pharmacist might make. RPh - registered pharmacist. Much like a CPhT they have taken a national & state test to become certified/licensed. They must hope a pharmacy degree, which could be either a BS (if awarded before 2000) or a doctorate (PharmD). PharmD - as state above, a doctorate in pharmacy. This is now the standard degree given to pharmacists. You can have a PharmD but not be licensed to be a pharmacist (RPh).
