Olympic Games: 3 gold medals Commonwealth games: 2 gold medals
Gold Olympic medals are real gold, but they are not all gold. They are usually just coated with gold. The rest of the medal is usually silver. There are standards as to how much gold is actually on the gold medals.
bronze $3 silver $264 gold $468
China (obvious much?)
nothing
I would air on the side of not much. Bronze itself is worth $1.50 - $2.50 a pound I believe, depending on grade. And I'm not sure how much the medals themselves weigh. So they aren't worth too terribly much, not the metal anyway. Regardless, to the athletes that win the medals, I'm sure they are priceless.
6 Gold medals altogether, but in football considering the category, 0. All 6 have came from Athletics.
Nadia Comaneci won 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal in gymnastics at the Olympic Games.
According to Answers.com $500 each, assuming 6 grams of gold.
As of the 2008 Games, the United States has won 895 gold, 692 silver, and 602 bronze for a total of 2,189 Summer Olympic medals. This website can't tell me how much they have won in the past olympics.
According to reports on the internet, the contents of an Olympic Silver Medal are the same as with an Olympic Gold Medal, 92.5 percent pure silver. The Gold Medal is covered by at least 6 grams of gold, according to the Olympic Charter. Some Olympic hosts make the medals larger or smaller according to their respective preferences...but the content must still follow the Charter.
