Answertheres been many changes since the invention of basketball. some guy from the university of Kansas came up with the game of basketball. it started out as a wooden bucket and some socks. he first came up with just trying to get the socks into the bucket but then he thought it was to much of a hassel to get them out everytime he got them in, so her cut out the bottom. to day instead of a bucket we have a iron rim that's 10" in the air with a nylon net connected to it as you've seen befor im guessing. there are some rules today that they use to not have and one huge difference is the 3 point line which wasn't in use until about early 90's.Baseball has become a lot safer, with the new bats, helmets, rules, and skill (so pitchers don't hit batter). As you can see, the MLB has gotten a lot harder, with a lot more skill. The league needed to help keep safety first.

Less developed.
Probably because our society loves to focus in on anything that makes us different, especially when it was first created in the USA. Such as baseball, which was developed by a Civil War general of all people (we love our generals... *sigh*).
