Answertheres been many changes since the invention of basketball. some guy from the university of Kansas came up with the game of basketball. it started out as a wooden bucket and some socks. he first came up with just trying to get the socks into the bucket but then he thought it was to much of a hassel to get them out everytime he got them in, so her cut out the bottom. to day instead of a bucket we have a iron rim that's 10" in the air with a nylon net connected to it as you've seen befor im guessing. there are some rules today that they use to not have and one huge difference is the 3 point line which wasn't in use until about early 90's.

Baseball has become a lot safer, with the new bats, helmets, rules, and skill (so pitchers don't hit batter). As you can see, the MLB has gotten a lot harder, with a lot more skill. The league needed to help keep safety first.

• In 1867 African Americans were barred from playing baseball in the newly formed National Association of Baseball players. Many "Negro Leagues" were formed as a result. In 1959 the Boston Red Sox integrated a black player and the ban soon ended.
• The shape, size and composition of the baseball has been regulated and the baseball can now travel farther when hit.

softball was more played like baseball back then. they used a baseball and wooden bats. they also made the women wear skirts to make it a little more girlie. now girls use aluminum or composite bats and a bigger ball.
