Konkers was an elementary school game played in autumn in Canada. Horsechestnuts were knocked down or fell down from the trees. We would take the large chestnuts inside the shells home, drill a hole through them, and insert a strong string. The game involved one boy holding his Konker steady, by the string, letting it hang down. The second player would attempt to smash it with his own konker. One of the two would eventually break open and fall off its string. The winning konker now had a victorious record of One win. If you ever attained a record/value of ten or more, you were a local attraction and everyone would line up for a chance to try to break your winning streak. One more thing. The credited wins of the losing konker were added to the winning konker, so if a six beat a nine, it became a 15er, WOW !!!
