Rick Porcello did very well pitching for his high school - Seton Hall Prepatory School and gained a lot of attention as one of the top prospects coming into the 2007 MLB draft. Porcello was drafted 27th and was later signed by the Detroit Tigers. After doing well with Detroit's minor league class advanced A team in 2008 Porcello made his MLB debut in April 2009.
