I have ran into the same problem, and found out that the new product number uses an acrylic water based oil and is supose to be more "green" for the environment. The older product number is based on linseed oil and the two are not compatible. Do not try to re-treat a previously treated surface with the new formula. That white milky stuff just stays on top and will not soak in.
