Can people that are slightly overweight successfully skydive and base jump?

More important of the potential sky diver and base-jumper is his or her overall physical condition. A few pounds here or there is not a big deal especially if the person still relatively young (I don't know older person's who base jump). Also, base Jumping has not been around as long as sky-diving so I would also be more concerned about who is going to instruct this person?
