Cups are only made for guys. Girls do not have extremely vulnerable sexual organs hanging between their legs. But some girls that play contact sports wear pads specially made to fit over the same area, except that it isn't shaped like a cup. Being a guy I don't know that much about them but I don't think many girls wear them. I do know that all guys need to wear a cup if they are in contact sports because getting hit in the balls is the worst thing that can happen to you (aside from cracking your skull or something).

∙ 13y agoWell, i wouldn't say that I like it, but I wear one for assurance that a ball won't hit me in the "thing". It wasn't very comfortable at first, but you get used to it.

Absolutely. The reason for wearing an athletic supporter in any sport is to keep the genitals close to the body and immobile, thus preventing injury. In basketball especially, if you are not wearing a jock you will experience much flopping around. This is very uncomfortable. I play basketball several times a week. The vast majority of the guys I play with wear an athletic supporter, and I know that because we get dressed together in the locker room. Jocks, by the way, do not cause jock itch... and if you have never worn one you will be amazed how much more comfortable playing ball is when you've got it on..
