You would have to consider the kind of scientist you are thinking of, exactly what they do in their daily work, who they work for, what sector (private or public), how long have they been doing what they are doing, the type of industry they are working in, and whether or not there is a high demand for what they exactly do. There is lots to consider, even the metropolitan area where the scientist works effects their income to some degree.For instance you could be a scientist such as a tenured physicist working for a university earning about 70 to 100 thousand dollars a year or you could be a scientist working on experimental government research dealing with biological weapons that probably makes about 150 to 200 thousand dollars a year.
Overall, the more skill and experience you have the more you generally make. If you want more specific answers you will have to narrow your search significantly. Scientists usually tend to make a pretty comfortable income though.
