Skateboarders didn't exist in the 1920's. Back in the stone age (as my kids call it) we took the wheels off of roller skates (the old metal ones that clamped onto your shoes) and put them on pieces of wood to make skateboards. Skateboarders as we know them today didn't become a recognized group/type of sports people until the mid to late 60's when "Sidewalk Surfing" became popular as a way to practice surfing when you couldn't go to the beach, or the surf wasn't "up".
