basically, 70 mm is the diameter of wheel. wheels can range from 65mm-100mm. and the other number is the durometer. used to determine the hardness of the wheel. it's easy to tell which number is the durometer, because it will always have the letter "a" after it. ex: 76a, 88a, 90a. Durometer ranges from mid 70's all the way to 90's. the higher the number, the harder the wheel. it's useful to know this because the softer the wheel, the more grip you will have, and the harder it will be to break traction and slide. and it's the opposite with harder wheels. so 83a is almost in the middle, so it's pretty much okay for anything. : )
