washers are the small metal rings that go between the bearing and axle, and the bearing and nut.

Make sure to use "speed washers" and "spacers". Speed washers give a slight gap in between your truck hanger on the inside and your axle nut on the outside. Spacers help to retain the two bearings as an integral unit, it spreads the sideways loads of skating between the two bearings and greatly reduce the chances of your bearings popping from either axial loads or over tightening your axle nuts putting pressure on the internal and external bearing rings.

Yes and I'll show you how first you will need to get a toothbrush and wet the Grip tape just a little than you scrub it then on to the wheels and bearings for the bearing you will have to take them out of the wheel ( if you don't know how to take them out just go on YouTube and search how to take bearings out of the skateboard wheel) then when you have finished taking the bearings out You drip just one drop of motor oil on each one of the bearings then just let them sit there for half an hour, then on to the wheels so far all you have to do to the wheels are just to set them in a bowl of water for about thirty minutes then you get the toothbrush and scrub them. After your done cleaning the weels and bearings you set 2 of the bearings in each of the part of the truck were the wheels go and then grab the wheel and set it on top of the bearing and push on it that will cause the bearing to get back in its place in the wheel after you are done just repeat it with the rest of the wheels then if you want to clean the trucks basicly all you have to do is scrub them with the toothbrush .
