Pros:

  1. Get to show off your moves
  2. If you get hurt, you can get help quickly
  3. Some of the best skating spots are in public cities
  4. Your most likely gonna meet some awesome skaters in public areas.

Cons:

  1. Some public areas will not tolerate skating activity
  2. In an area with more publicity, some people will not like to have someone skating around back and forth(such as old people)
  3. You have the risk of being taken to jail if you don't know the public area's rules and one of them be that skating is strictly prohibited.

Well...that's all i can think of. To be honest, I skate public in areas that I know I won't get into trouble, so if I was you, I would proably skate in public. Hope you liked my answer.
