Electro magnetic waves can pass through medium of free space ie vacuum but mechanical waves cannot do so. Mechanical waves such as sound definitely needs a material medium air, water etc. But light being electro magnetic could pass through even vacuum. Actually in between the sun and earth there is vacuum. Yet we receive light right from Sun towards earth.
Electromagnetic waves do not require a medium to propagate, unlike mechanical waves which do. Electromagnetic waves consist of oscillating electric and magnetic fields, while mechanical waves transfer energy through the vibration of particles in a medium. Electromagnetic waves can travel through vacuum, while mechanical waves cannot.
Sound waves are mechanical waves because they require a medium, such as air, water, or solids, to propagate. The vibration of particles in the medium generates these waves, which travel through the medium by causing particles to bump into each other. This physical interaction between particles is what distinguishes sound waves as mechanical waves.
Mechanical waves, shock waves, etc.
Another name for mechanical waves is elastic waves.
Mechanical waves are waves that require a medium to travel through, such as water waves, sound waves in air, and seismic waves in the Earth's crust. These waves transfer energy through the oscillation of particles in the medium.
A non-mechanical wave is a type of wave that does not require a medium to propagate. Examples of non-mechanical waves include electromagnetic waves (such as light and radio waves) and gravitational waves. These waves can travel through a vacuum because they do not rely on the vibration of particles for propagation.
Mechanical waves require a medium for their propagation whereas electromagnetic waves require a medium for their propagation.
None is, since there are no waves below.
Electromagnetic Waves can travel through space without any material medium.
They don't require a medium to travel through. - apex ....what a wanker

Mechanical waves require a medium while Electromagnetic waves does not.

Seismic waves are mechanical waves.
mechanical waves need a medium to travel through, electromagnetic waves do not. Electromagnetic waves can travel through space, mechanical waves can not.:PElectromagnetic waves do not require a medium, but mechanical waves do.
sound waves are a example of mechanical waves
