Because it's one of the oldest forms of dance known to mankind. It teaches grace, beauty, discipline and excellent posture. It is classical and stunning to watch, incredibly satisfying to perform, and for those who are not going to become a prima ballerina, it still imparts a love of dance, and a passion for movement not to mention being VERY good exercise. I have danced classical Ballet for over 35 years and can honestly say I do not regret a single day of it. Sure, its hard sometimes, but I firmly believe that there is nothing better to develop a sense of style and elegance, with an underlying strength to any child - male or female!
